Last Thursday was the official first day of the 2015-16 school year for me. It's so hard to believe that summer is over! Bill still has a few more days .... until this coming Thursday.
Where did the time go, you ask? Well we've definitely found ways to keep ourselves busy.
Summer began with us closing on our house. We spent a weekend painting two rooms before some of our fabulous family members helped us move in. Most of June was spent packing, painting, unpacking, putting stuff away .. and organizing .. filled with time working on my classes to complete my plus 32 (for those of you that aren't teachers..... .that's 32 credit hours after a Master's Degree which only earns me more money!)
In between the time spent working on the house and classes, we were also in full force with wedding planning. My goal was to get as much wedding details done this summer that was possible. I would say that was accomplished... Centerpieces are close to done; flowers are purchased; wedding is planned with Fr. Joe, and invitations are stuffed, sealed, and stamped. We even scored the most romantic stamp I've ever seen on a wedding invitation
.... or maybe not. It does have Connor in it which made me smile.
On top of that, we had two slumbers parties ...one with Brynzlee and one with Jen,
attended Megan and Chris' wedding,
spent time in St. Louis taking care of poor Landon who had a rough July,
celebrated Dylan's birthday with putt-putt and Cherry Berry,
celebrated Grandma's birthday with soo much family,
got engagement pictures,
tested out our new grill,
We even attempted to go to a Cardinal game. We got there early, got our free jerseys from the 1985 team, and found our seats just in time for a storm to roll through and cancel the game. What an experience!
We had such a fun summer which is probably what caused it to FLY by! We are so lucky to have summers off together which also allows us to spend time with family and friends!
We definitely have a busy, busy, busy 3 months ahead of us ... looking forward to the bridal shower and our big day on November 14!
I plan to ride these last 3 months of being a Roe out in style ... You can take the girl away from the Roe but you can't take the Roe out of the girl!
Here's to a spectacular 2015-16 school year! Can't wait to meet my new kinders in the morning!
