Kinley - One Month

Wow, that month sure flew by!

We've spent this month getting used to life at home as a family of four.  Adding you to our family has changed all of our routines, but we've enjoyed figuring it out! 

Unlike your sister, you've have a calm first month of life.  You past your hearing test and your newborn screening.  Things have seemed so easy with you!  

This month, you celebrated your first Easter and met many, many family members, coworkers and friends. You've enjoyed snuggling up to every new person you meet! 

Likes: 
*Sleeping - you're still sleeping most of the day away and going 5-7 hours at night (Thank you!)
*Being held - your favorite place to sleep is in someones arms, but we're mastering the art of swaddling you and putting you in the swing or rock and play for naps.
*Baths - you don't enjoy getting ready for the bath, but once you're in you calm right down
*Bottles - You're a bottle champ!  You down them so fast!  You're eating 2 oz pretty consistently.
*Stretching - You love laying on a hard flat surface and stretching your arms and legs out
*Reagan - there's so many times you're fussy and we put you on Reagan's lap and you just calm right down.  Melts my heart!

Dislikes:
*Your carseat - the process of getting buckled in - and being in it without moving
*Being hungry - when you're hungry ... you want a bottle right now!  We're working on patience :) 
*Getting dressed - Putting clothes over your head always makes you so mad! 
*Being put down when you're almost asleep - You prefer to be rocked to sleep until you're sound asleep.

Kinley Kate- We've loved having you join our family! Watching the bond you're developing with Reagan already just melts us. We just love taking you places and showing you off. We're looking forward to a summer spent together as a family.  Daddy only has 10 more days of work! 

Reagan - Two

Reagan, 

You are two!  It's been two years since you officially joined our family.  You made our dreams come true and relieved every single worry we had while I was pregnant. You are our miracle baby and even Dr. Abrams can vouch for that. 

You're vocabulary amazes us daily!  There's times we feel like we're talking to a teenager. One day this week as you were walking out of Debbie's, you asked Daddy if he saw the astronauts.  We're still not sure how you know about those!

You love to sing! Right now, 5 little monkeys, The Itsy Bitsy Spider, and I Feel Better (from Doc McStuffins) are your favorite songs to sing.  You're Welcome (from Moana) is your song that you sing and dance to with your Daddy.  Watching you two do this almost daily still melts my heart.  Our song for you is My Girl and you now know most of the chorus and will sing along.  You'll always be My Girl! 

You love to be outside! You just walk around the yard and look for flowers, go into your playhouse to "cook" for us, play with bubbles and draw with your "colors" (chalk) on the sidewalk.  

You've taken on your new role as Big Sister like a rock star!  You love to touch Kinley's face and hair.  When she cries, you walk over to her and tell her "it's okay .."  

Your tv favorites are Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Bubble Guppies, Paw Patrol, and Butterbean's Cafe. You will definitely let us know which one you want to watch.

Ever since the wind storms around Christmas, our nights of leaving you in your bed to go to sleep after we read a story ended.  Each night, the whole family goes to your room to read a story (or two) and then one of us has to lay with you until you go to sleep.  There are definitely nights that I lay there and think of many other things I could be doing, but I quickly remember this stage won't last long.  I cherish this time of cuddling with you until you go to sleep, because there will come a day you don't want that at all.  Also, most nights you have Peanut joining you in your bed.  I think he's realized he has more room in your bed than in ours.

You've started throwing fits almost every morning when it's time to go to daycare, but you have so much fun while you're there.  We sure hope this phase passes quickly. 

You've developed "stranger danger" at times.  You even are shy around family members at first, but warm up quickly.
